AdGreen is an initiative to make commercials production greener, started by London-based production manager Jo Coombes. Fed up with the level of rubbish she was seeing on set, Jo established AdGreen to address the issue by educating the industry about our impact and improving our wasteful ways.
With the support of the APA, other production staff and related industry initiatives such as BAFTA's Albert, AdGreen have developed a range of tools for production teams and crew, to help embed sustainability into location and studio shoots in the UK. The website features a shoot checklist, additions for your call sheet, printable signage, and FAQ covering a range of topics, from reusing drives to legal requirements when it comes to recycling. There's also a host of case studies from recent shoots, to show what works and what doesn't in terms of green production.
Jo also provides training for the next generation at the APA Masterclass each year, and is working on extending the initiative to involve agencies and suppliers too.
